Gina Yoo is Korean-American (Dongpo) born and raised in Los Angeles. Her journey in pottery began when she took ceramics in college. She continued to develop her distinctive style, but a decade in the entertainment industry took her away from her first passion. She returned to pottery as a form of healing after a loss. She explores classical Korean forms as a way of connecting to her deep heritage while also capturing the inherent grace in the sand and waves of her Southern California upbringing.
